AASMA

Aasma is the worldbuilding core project of Swedish composer, producer and artist Mira Aasma. Blending experimental dream pop with folk traditions, electronic production and environmental recordings, each release unfolds as a chapter in a larger fictional universe.

Drawing from a background spanning music, game development, theatre, film and visual arts, Aasma brings these disciplines together through immersive audiovisual works and live performances where music, storytelling, scenography and interaction become part of the same experience.

The current long-form project, Elemental Odyssey, explores the relationship between humanity, nature and spirituality through the four classical elements. Each chapter is built around its own sonic ecosystem, inspired by landscapes, mythology and field recordings collected in the places where the music is created.

The upcoming chapter, ON AIR, is a fictional radio broadcast transmitted from the clouds. Existing simultaneously as an album, live show and interactive game, it invites listeners to tune into a world where every song is another frequency in the broadcast.

Parallly, Aasma produces ambient music that resonates with the current element, released by Sources in Berlin.

Ocean (Album, 2024)

The second part of the “Elemental Odyssey” series – a journey down to the sea, where we follow our own history from ancient life to spiritual beings. As we set sail from the cliffs, we reflect on the mysteries and contradictions of humanity. The ocean offers both comfort and fear, something vast and untamed. We take shelter below deck when rain comes, visit a sailor’s chapel, and glimpse the edge of the world.

Campfire (Album, 2023)

The first part of the “Elemental Odssey” series - a mindful and organic album recorded in cottages and forests all around Sweden, striving to contribute to thoughts and conversation in the dimension of what humanity needs to free ourselves from to find a way back to our core. We get to follow the sound of voices and guitars into the forest to settle down by the crackling campfire for a moment of singing and story telling.

ITALO BITCHES

An Italo disco-inspired duo from Planet Bi_ttt_ch, here to lovingly mock Planet Earth.

Legend has it Italo disco was created by aliens—and it’s true. Italo Bitches were born on Planet Bi_ttt_ch, a place untouched by gender, class, race, or capitalism. One day, Mother Earth summoned them to Planet Earth as a last resort to save humanity. Since their arrival, they’ve tasted glittering success, taken down evil men in court, appeared on television, supported queer communities in Russia, and joined forces with drag artists and dancers to teach Earthlings some proper Planet Bi_ttt_ch manners.
